What is a Help to Buy valuation?
A Help to Buy valuation provides the current market value of your home so Homes England can calculate the amount due when you repay some or all of your Help to Buy Equity Loan.
Wren Home Surveyors currently offers valuations for Help to Buy Equity Loan purposes only. We do not currently advertise general private valuations, mortgage-lender valuations, probate valuations or matrimonial valuations.
Important scheme eligibility
Homes England sets specific criteria for Help to Buy valuations. Its current guidance requires the surveyor to be RICS qualified and registered. For Help to Buy: Equity Loan (2021–2023), the guidance additionally requires the surveyor to be an RICS Member or Fellow (MRICS or FRICS).
Steven Lewis is AssocRICS and an RICS Registered Valuer. This means Wren Home Surveyors can only accept a Help to Buy instruction where the requirements for your particular scheme can be met. Please tell us when your Help to Buy Equity Loan was taken out before requesting a quotation.
What the valuation involves
Where the instruction is eligible, the property is inspected and the market valuation is supported by relevant comparable evidence and bespoke market commentary in accordance with the applicable Help to Buy requirements.
The valuation is a market valuation for Help to Buy purposes. It is not a condition survey. If you need advice on defects or the condition of the property, a RICS Level 2 Home Survey or RICS Level 3 Building Survey is a separate service.
